Online Community Manager, Vice President
This role is for a “Startup” within a large Financial Service Firm in NYC. These roles are new.
The Community Manager, VP role, is directly responsible for building a vibrant Dotcom Online Community. This person will be responsible for engaging all relevant groups, including Legal, Compliance, Operations, Content, Technology, Delivery and Support to ensure compliance to all regulatory restrictions, while adhering to the overall vision and innovation of the Dotcom brand.
The Community Manager, VP, should seed the growing community, building brand loyalty through insight, fair play, free speech, and intelligent, friendly conversation. Some of the key day to day responsibilities include:
- Increase Community membership and activity. Promote an active community within Dotcom and on external sites. They should be able to track and recommend users from other sites who would be appropriate for the tone and direction of the Dotcom.
- Lead interactions between community participants through media such as blogging, private message boards, blog comments and traditional discussion boards.
- Keeping the site fresh. There are several options, including using analytics to track activity within the different threads and categories, moving and directing users to the appropriate posting sites, tracking discussion threads and inviting users to view related content, products or tools in the site to guide their conversation.
Qualifications / Requirements
- 7 – 10+ years relevant work experience, preferably in media, PR, interactive marketing, online content management or online community management
- MBA preferred
- Strong understanding of financial products across a broad range of segments – wealth management / investment, banking, card, and insurance.
- Experience working with Web 2.0 Technologies (RSS feeds, Blogs, social networking sites)
- Strong communication ability
- Passion for innovation
