The Yahoo! Video team seeks a results-driven Community Manager to drive adoption and engagement among online video power users/influencer audiences. In this role, you will own the strategy and execution of key influencer out-reach initiatives, including grassroots / word-of-mouth and outreach marketing. You will establish your credibility among the Video community, influence the influencers, and remain productive and positive while resolving difficult online interactions. You will work closely with the Marketing and Product team to make sure that community feedback is being heard and that roadmaps and communications plans adequately address the needs of our viewing and up-loader audiences.Responsibilities include:
- Development, growth, and ongoing maintenance of the community
- Developing and implementing programs and strategies to drive user and community engagement, as well as leading outreach programs
- Assisting with the planning and execution of online and offline events to drive adoption and build excitement
- Engaging and communicating about the product with the Video community in forums, announcements, and on blogs
- Monitoring positive and negative Video buzz on the Web and in the blogosphere
- Evolving community management and abuse policies and helping to enforce them with the Customer Care team
- Launching and operating a forum for discussion of technical issues on the site
- Cultivating relationships with key ”power” users and responding to inquiries from top users on a timely basis
- Interacting with users on the site to drive engagement
- Resolving disputes and removing problem members
- Developing metrics to monitor the health of audiences and preparing weekly re-ports for management
Qualifications/Experience/Skills Required:
- 4+ years of experience in online community development
- Proven track record in translating customer feedback into product and customer communication and improvements.
- Exemplary written communication skills, particularly in relation to online communities, blogs, and as a moderator or facilitator of online forums
- Ability to communicate in the Yahoo! voice and successfully interact and build relationships with key customer audiences
- Ability to translate technical explanations into layman’s terms
- Ability to work across a cross-functional team that includes product management, marketing, engineering, editorial, and public relations
- The right person will be an enthusiastic and creative self-starter with a desire to accomplish great things and execute breakthrough ideas.
- Strong passion advocating on behalf of customers to build products that exceed expectations
- Passion for online video and helping the public to express themselves on Yahoo
- Quick learner; must be willing and able to roll up the sleeves and dig into the details to get stuff done
- Experience moderating group discussions
- Bachelor’s degree required
