Online Community Manager, Zazengo

Zazengo is a platform for tracking social action that allows users to aggregate their impact. We are launching in November 2008.

Zazengo is looking for a community manager who has experience with online communities, inspiration, relationship building, and organically growing a community-generated product development cycle.
Zazengo will work with many large and small organizations with multiple different needs and different focus areas. We intend to build a platform that serves issue-areas: environmental, poverty, etc with different demographics youth, seniors…
Zazengo has a small team of highly committed individuals. The community manager will be an integral part of identifying issues for our developers, suggesting new features, building a strong relationship between users and developers, supporting user needs, identifying best practices and building up a wiki for users

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a number of client communities and help them to grow and expand their userbase and impact on the site
  • Represent Zazengo as an open, fluid, organic product that is responsive to the needs of the user community
  • Identify priorities and opportunities from the large number of user requests and pass this on to Zazengo developers

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of social networking sites and user generated content sites
  • Excellent community management skills
  • Ability to be part of a high performance team that is distributed geographically
  • Highly motivated, outgoing person requiring minimal oversight
  • Excellent writer and communicator
